Formatting Powerpoint Handouts using ms word 2007

Handouts are basically thumbnails of slides. Its also used to take the presentations as printout.
Handouts allow to provide more detailed information than a slide. They give your audience something to take away from your presentation, to review later. They are one more way for your listeners to be reminded of you and your key messages.

In PowerPoint presentation click view and press Handout Master.

Formatting Powerpoint Handouts using Word 2007

Step1: Click the Office Button in Powerpoint presentation.
Step2: Choose Publish, select Create Handouts in Microsoft Office Word.
Step3: Send to Microsoft Office Word popup will appear.
Step4: Choose the page layout you wish to use and select the corresponding radio button.
Step5: And then add slides to Microsoft Office document.
Step6: Click Ok.

Note: Now you can use Word’s formatting tools to make your handouts look the way you want them to.

Understanding the Different Types of Indents

There are 4 diferent Types

  • Left Indent moves the left margin of a paragraph to the right.
  • A First Line Indent moves only the first line of a paragraph to the right
  • With a Hanging Indent, the first line aligns on the left and the rest of the paragraph “hangs” from the first line.

To create a Hanging Indent, click carefully on the bottom triangle and drag the Hanging Indent Marker to the right. The “hourglass” will split,as in the above picture and example for hanging indent is shown below

  • A Right Indent moves the right margin of a paragraph to the left.

Removing Extra Breaks in Word Document & Internet contents

1. Press Ctrl + H to open the Find and Replace dialog box

2. In the first box, enter ^p^p (the “p” must be lower case)

3. In the second box, enter ^p

4. Click Replace All

If you copied the text from the Internet, this might not work for you.

How to Always Paste Without Formatting or With Destination Formatting in Office Word?

Step 1: Click the Office Button in Word Document

Step 2: In Word Options pop-up, click Advanced

Step 3: Below Cut, Copy and Paste section, pasting options will be available, (eg. Pasting within the same document, Pasting between documents.)

Step 4: You can change these options as desired.

Step 5: This will help to follow single font throughout the document.
